New years eve at Joesfinehill. Today we celebrated the first new years ending at Josefinehill. It's very dark outside but indoors we have lit candles and drink gluhwein. Soon there will be spring and the ceiling will be finalized so that we can paint here even when it's winter.

Kerstin's leather sculptures on Christmas Market in Stockholm

Today the Christmas Market in Edsvik Art Center took place.
It was fantastic to see that many people interesting in my leather scupltures. Everyone had to touch them as they thought they were made of clay, and were suprised by how light they were.
And most amazing was that all people, young and old, were in some way touched by them. They knew ecactly what they associated them with, but they had very deviating opinions.
"so peaceful...", "thoughtful" and som thougt they were "scaring".

The children knew exactly what they looked like; Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and ghosts... not at all peaceful impressions!

Thanks all participants for your valuable thoughts. I'm so happy that you appreciated my sculptures and have just decided that I will have an exhibition next summer showing more of my small leather ladies!

Time for Christmas exhibition in Sollentuna

Kerstin's small sculptures in leather will be exhibited at Edsvik Art Center, Sollentuna, Stockholm on December 18th. Open 11.00 - 20.00.

Sara won price at Dubai International Art Center's November Exhibiton

While we were enjoying the new atelier in the dark forests of Sweden, the November Exhibition at Dubai International Art Center had their November Exhibition.  On Saturday morning Sara got a call from her daughter Samira. She had won price for one of her watercolour paintings. This is a weekend for celebrations!

Celebration - our first painting sessions in the atelier, even if it's still under construction

Some great days in Josefinehill Art Gallery. On Friday night we celebrated that we made our first paint work in the new atelier. Lot's of work left to be done with the ceiling, floor and walls, but still we could use it already. 

The daylight in Sweden in november is not the best for painting as it gets dark very early but we were lucky, as the weather has been great with clear sky and sunlight.  

So we celebrated with dinner in the atelier, with candles and wine. Outside the dark November night surrounded us in the forest.
